Receiving (rather than making) a decision

How does it feel to you to stand at the crossroads of a decision?
At some point in my life
I realized
that there is a distinct difference
between making a decision
and receiving a decision.
Since this understanding has landed in me
things feel so much easier
as I recognize
that so long as I maintain the clarity of my purpose
I can see beyond the noise.
You can feel
what is moving in you
calling you to move in response.
As long as you ongoingly
clarify your intention
you can step forward
with grace and elegance
at any junction.
How do you approach decisions?
For me, I think this understanding came
from a place of despair
of stress about decision making
and confusion between hearing my inner voice
and hearing the external voices - culture, other people, expectations….
I just couldn’t continue
trying to be what others wanted me to be
and I surrendered
to being myself.
You too can relax into your own voice
into the movements of your waters
in harmony with the waters of the universe.
