Everyone has their own stuff going on, she said. I don’t want to bother anyone.
As we continued to talk, she explained that she finds herself feeling like a failure when she asks others for their help.
Most women feel like they “should” be able to do it all…alone.
It breaks my heart to recognize that painful truth.
Do you find it hard to ask others for support?
We live in a culture that teaches us that we do things on our own.
But, the truth is, none of us does anything alone.
You, like everyone else, are part of the larger web of life
and you need that web to survive.
On the most basic level, you can’t exist with out water or air.
In the same way, you are here thanks to the generations who came before you.
We are all held by a larger web.
Asking for support does not mean you are a failure.
Asking for support makes you human.
That persistent feeling, YOU ARE NOT ENOUGH
resonates because alone, none of us is enough.
We all need the web.
Actually, asking someone else for help, gives them the opportunity to feel more human as well.
Try it. And if you’d like to share, I would love to hear how it went for you.
