You still have negative thoughts about your body — even after years of work

Even though I have been working for years

to love my body

to accept myself

with compassion


There are definitely still times when

I look in the mirror and simply do not feel good.  


At the same time you know

like I do

that the only difference between us

and the ones in the stars

is that right now

we still have a body. 


It is this body that gives us life

that opens the possibility for us

to grow

to listen

with all of our senses 

to the universe. 


It is this body that moves us

to dance

to nourish and be nourished

by life. 


Listening to what is moving

in the waters 

of your body

is a powerful tool for healing. 


Returning again to the balance

of the cycle of life

that lives in the body of woman

is a gateway to wellness.  


So I can’t help but ask

whose thoughts are those, really? 

Whose voice is telling me

that I am too tall, too short, too fat, too thin, too much,

not enough? 


How can we return our attention to the voice of the cycle that breathes within us?

How can we listen again to the ancient wisdom that is the source of all life?
