Dance with me

Sometimes
I wake up in the morning
and my body feels heavy
perhaps a bit stuck
and I notice my thoughts can be the same
heavy and stagnant
thinking the same thought over and over again
in an endless loop.
When I move
I am in a dialogue with the waters
in me
and around me.
The more I dance
the more I realize
that when I dance
I am communicating with all of life.
Life is communicating with me
through me.
If we can listen a bit more
to the waters that move through us
we can remember that
we are the body of the universe.
We can feel
and transform
together
as humans always have
in collaboration with the cycles
of life
in collaboration with
the earth
the air
the fire
the water.
Western culture teaches us that coping with grief, transitions, challenges is an individual task - my traumas, my difficulties, my therapeutic journey. Yet, since time immemorial, humans have healed and transformed, together, in collaboration with one another and with the natural world, in reverence for the cycles which are the basis of all life, in gratitude.
You are part of a larger wisdom, a movement of the cosmos, mirrored in the interdependence and cross pollination of a healthy forest. We live together, us humans, the trees, the birds, the ancestors, the children, the fire, the earth, the air, the water. You are never truly alone.
You can always turn to these elements to ask for, and receive support.
