The world is changing so fast. How are you feeling in the face of such rapid movement?
Are you finding a good balance between rest and action? Do you have a good way to rejuvenate yourself, to refill?
If you find yourself overwhelmed by the demands on your energy, disconnected from intimacy, lacking authenticity, out of sync with the rhythms of your body or the natural world, please know that you are not alone.
These situations of the human condition - overwhelm, disconnect, loneliness, superficiality, isolation - define our times.
And, when you do have some time to yourself, it isn’t easy to just be and relax. Everything feels so heavy, so fragile in these crazy times which are permeated by pain, grief and destruction, even though no one is really willing to talk about that.
How can we return to a place of balance? How can you develop resilience in the face of so much movement, so many challenges?
There is so much wisdom to be accessed by simply directing our attention to what is.
If you observe the world around you, you will notice the ever present cyclical movement of nature.
Every day is defined by the movement of the sun across the sky.
Every year is defined the movement of the changing seasons.
Every breath is defined by the ongoing exchange of inhale and exhale.
Directing your attention to the simplicity and constancy of cycles, surrendering to the movement of the cycles is resilience building.
Recognizing that it is essential to balance action with rest, inhale with exhale is resistance to this system that is stretching us so far beyond our capacity.
